This OS was first announced in May as Android O, during Google's annual I/O 2017 developer conference and now the full name of this OS is released and that is Android Oreo. Google also added some of the videos related to Android’s Preview on Youtube that you can check out any time to know about it.

As you know that the Google launches its latest versions by making many changes in look wise, its security features etc. but this time the look of this Android O doesn’t change much but only a couple of things are added to the existing UI:-

·        Notification Dots:-
It’s not that much of a software change but a little visual change to its UI which is that from now onwards in Android O whenever you get notifications from any app then you will get to see a little dot at its top right corner which tells you that you have a notification or any kind of message pending in that app. It is actually a good thing to know if you accidently cleared all notifications from notification bar and forgot from which app you got that, it will help you not to open every single app on your device to search for that. This all work will then get done by notification dots that will tell you from which app you got that.
And if you don’t like these dots then you can also switch them off from its settings.

·        Picture-In-Picture :-
It’s the latest feature in Google’s Android Oreo and you may say the best until now. SO the picture-in-picture feature is solely made for a better multi-tasking. So what does this feature do? Say you are watching a video on Youtube and suddenly you got a new mail, previously you did had to minimize the video and then check the mail, but now you don’t have to minimize the video but by just clicking on the home the video will still plays on the screen in a small thumbnail size and you can still check the mail or do any other task while enjoying your video.

Firstly this feature will come for Google Duo and then for other apps.

·        Autofill:-

This feature is just like that you have saved you passwords in the browsers that you’re using. This feature’s work is simple and yet very smart which saves your so much of time. As you visit different apps or web-sites you have to fill same data again and again many times but with this feature you can now save some information within the device like login info and more to use whenever you want quickly. Autofill will fill all your data with just a click.

·        Icon Customization:-
You all must’ve got bored by using same icons again and again in many Android devices but now the Google has taken a step for all of this. Now Google provides you with icon customization feature where you can change the icons for your favorite apps which you can directly change from the settings given in latest OS. Firstly you will get 4 kind of icons but in future you may get more features and you may also download your favorite one’s from Google Play Store.

·        Notification Control:-
In the latest Android O the developers are not the one who will get to control how you see your notifications but it’s you who will get all the control over the notifications that you want to see and that you don’t.
So in this update the apps basically provides you all the notifications but you will get to control and select the one that you want to and not the provider. You can stop getting many notifications but only the one’s that you have selected.

·        Copy Paste Technology:-

With Android O you will not have to copy something and paste it into something to get your results but whenever you select some text the Google’s new technology will give you the options to get the results directly from that selection.

Like whenever you select some phone number this technology will give you the option to directly dial that number and if you copy any mail-id then you will get the option to send the mail directly without coping the mail-Id and pasting it into the app.

These above are some customization features which you will get in Android Oreo.
There are some other improvements which I’d like to mention:-

·        Battery and Memory Saver:-

You all know about the internal battery saver and Doze feature from Android N, so now in Android O that feature will work more efficiently and your battery will last even longer than now. The memory save will also work efficiently and stops all unnecessary background apps like Facebook or messenger which consumes very much of memory.

·        Faster Software:-

The software and apps in Android O will work much faster and some of them will works more than twice the current speed. So you can use your device easily and functions quickly.

·        Updates:-

As the google is always updating their software very much which take too much of our device’s storage but from Android O onwards you will not need much of the free space in your device, you only need 100 kb of free space because the device will get updated with Google Servers not the device’s memory.

So these above are the features of the latest Android O that are worth mentioning.

When will you get the Update? :-

Firstly you will get this update on Google Pixel phones and then they will start rolling it out for other phones. This time the Google said that the people who are using big brand’s phones like HTC, Motorola , Samsung will get this update a little early than before and other will get according to them.
